All About Me
Hi, my name is Trace Edward Rohrbaugh. I was born November 9, 2006. I weighed 7lbs 7.6oz and was 19 1/4" long. My Daddy, Maw-Maw & big sister, Kirstin were there for my birth. The "original" plan was for Brooklynn to be there too, but she wouldn't sit still that long. lol. I was a VBAC baby and everything went awesome! I was 10 days early. They induced Mommy cause Daddy was in PA working and she didn't want to go into labor and Daddy miss his Lil' Man being born. They took Mommy in at 8am and started the induction. Daddy left PA at 12pm and made it to the hospital at 2:30pm.
I was induced starting at 8am. They took me me in and got me settled in my room. Kirstin colored on the floor. They came in to insert my IV and after 3 tries gave up and called for IV Therapy. I waited on them for almost an hour. Finally they came and he got my IV in and the pitocin was started. It was started slow, as to give Todd time to get there. When I was 3cm they decided to break my water. Well right after that I started to feel the contractions and decided it was time for my epidural. Man didn't that feel good! Only had to wait on him about 10-20 minutes or so. At 3 I was 5-6cm. At 5 I was 6-7cm. Then around 6:15pm she checked me and I was 8cm. No sooner had she checked me I started to feel horrid urges to push along with pain. OK, I had an epidural! I wasn't supposed to feel ANY pain! lol I kept telling that nurse that I needed to push and she kept telling me I was only 8 and I better not push as I could tear internally. I kept on and on till at 6:30 she decided to check me again and wah lah! I was 10! So she called my doctor who was on stand-by at the hospital seeing cause I had a previous emergency c-section and she was afraid my uterus might not withstand the contractions and could rupture again, so she came in, 6 pushes and there was Trace. :) No tears or cuts! It was soooo easy! Of course first thing I did was check his bottom to make sure he was still a boy! lol. Kirstin cut the cord and was so proud of herself.
We cuddled for a while then they took him to clean him off and since I had just given myself a shot of pitocin right before I delivered I couldn't feel my legs so I had to wait till about 12am till I could feel them and get a shower. Mom, Todd & the girls stayed till I was able to get a bath and move to my other room. I was up at 7am the next morning. Got a shower, did my hair and make-up and went and got Trace. They couldn't' believe I was up and running around so soon. lol I was not sore at all! So that is how Trace arrived. I am so glad I decided to try one more time. I can not imagine not having him. He is Mommy's Lil' Man. :)
I am now a fully active & mischievous 13 month old. I love climbing on Mommy's table, getting into her cabinets & tearing out anything I can find. I love playing with my big sisters and being cuddled by Mommy. I sleep in my own room and sleep from 8-9am. Mommy is so proud of me! I am also walking, well more less running and I currently have 7 teeth, with which I love biting my sisters. lol
